Simon Anholt is a Director of Placebrands, a business which advises countries, regions and cities on branding strategies for economic, social and cultural development. The Economist describes him as ‘one of the world’s leading consultants to corporations and governments who wish to build global brands’. His controversial new book, Brand New Justice (2003), describes how branding can help developing countries.
Graham Brown is Professor of Tourism Management at the University of South Australia. Dr Brown has published widely on tourism planning and marketing and has served on a number of editorial boards and acted as the regional editor, Asia/Pacific, for the International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management. He was a member of the Tourism Olympic Forum Mission to Atlanta in 1997 and worked on a major research project in collaboration with the Australian Tourist Commission and the IOC to examine the market characteristics of sponsor guests attending the Sydney Games.
Laurence Chalip is Professor of Sport Management, University of Texas. He has published over fifty scholarly articles and book chapters and two books. He is editor of the Sport Management Review and associate editor of the Journal of Sport Management. In 2000, he was awarded the International Chair of Olympism by the Centre d’Etudis Olímpics i de l’Esport at the Universitat
Autònoma de Barcelona in co-operation with the IOC. Shane R. Crockett is one of Australia’s most successful major event administrators
and marketers and the former Chief Executive Officer of the Western Australian Tourism Commission. Shane is a graduate from the University of Western Australia and is a Board member of Tourism Council Australia, Aviation Policy Committee, Capital City Commerce, Curtin University’s Board of Advisors for the Asia-Pacific Masters program I Hotel and Resort Management as well as the Committee for Economic Development of Australia.
